Hi Guys,
Was wondering if anybody had some feedback or interaction with this place in the states, as i am currently getting some quotes together on a dart 363 combo they may be building for my XY.

Any help would be great good or bad.

Jim has sent a few motor's to Australia and if I'm not mistaken it was about 10 engines last year. About 15-20% of engines go outside of the USA that he builds.

I'm sure you would of seen his feedback on corral.net and not even one forum member that he built an engine for has had an issue.

He know's his stuff and is very well priced. I would not hesitate to get an engine built by him.

Only thing I suggest is to get him to put it on the engine dyno and run it in and to check everything over before it leaves.

Keith is also good and CNC motorsports

Both of them prefer to use AFR heads or Keith uses his own CNC ported AFR and Brodix heads...

Thanks for the response guys.
I wasn't aware of the site but have had a read and all is positive as mentioned.

The next question I have is...

If the price of a new motor landed is around 10k including gst and freight how do I calculate how much stamp duty I have to pay once the crate arrives at customs?

If the motor has been run and put on the dyno does that make it secondhand?
There seems to be a grey area regarding whether something is considered new or secondhand.

Is there someone I can speak to or any experiences out there from any of you guys?

Thanks.

It would be considered 2nd hand if run on the dyno and you need to pay quarantine on top of GST... I think it was $300.00 if I remember correctly...

We have 2 of their short motors on order and another customer has one on order. We'll be getting them sea-freighted through a small, local importer at $200 per short, plus whatever it costs to get to the depot over there.

You pay GST on the total of goods and freight and 5% duty. Although there is a free trade agreement, it's only meant to be for items that aren't produced locally, so I'm guessing we'll be paying duty on engines that could be built here.

I spent quite a bit of time talking to both Jim and Nicole, of Ford Strokers, and they are awesome to deal with.

Hey Pete,

I am not so good with telling modulars apart, the one below appears to be a 2v though, if you get a chance to confirm that would be great. I have to check it out anyway, but saves a 90 minute drive haha

Thanks,
Nick
