Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone knows where I could buy a bracket to replace the a/c compressor on an AU XR8. Turning one into a track car and have removed all of the a/c and heating to reduce weight. Was wonder can you buy a bracket to replace it or will I need to make one?

Make a bracket that picks up off the original Compressor holes to hold an Idler Pulley.
I did this on my 351 Range rover...Different brackets and posi but the principle is the same.

On an E-series V8 the a/c compressor can be removed without needing an idler. The AU V8 should be similar even though the accessories are slightly different. Try removing the a/c compressor and pull the belt tight. If it doesn't rub anywhere, then you are OK. You may have to buy a slightly shorter belt so the tensioner is correctly positioned in it's travel

Im running a US Mustang AC Bypass bracket on my BMW E36 with AU 220kw.

Fits perfectly.

Here it is from the US :
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/ite ... tor-Pulley

$55 odd new? - not bad. Just need to get it shipped.

Look for part # M19216A50.

I bought the same item via ebay for around $20 shipped to shipitto

Now that all said - you can usually bypass it as well. Speaking of Bypass - anyone happen to have a Drivers side AC Pump Relocation kit for an AU V8?
