Hey guys I'm looking at importing a fastback from USA and wanted to know what needs doing to get this done, how much would tax be, best place to look for the car, how do you go about transferring it from sellers name to your name, how do you go about getting the car registered as it's LHD?? lol heaps if questions and if I missed anything let me know because I'm trying to get all the details I can on how to do it thanks all

the only thing i know is (correct me if im wrong) that pre1980 cars can only be imported if they are 100% standard. they even have to have the factory wheels.
i think its pre1980 but not sure

Have chat to John at American Imports at Thomastown ive imported many offroad buggies etc from the US using his company, never had any issues or problems.

What about importing hacked up race cars for the sole purpose of racing them?
There are a s**t load of 9 second fox body stang drag cars in the states selling for peanuts and it would be pretty cost effective to import one rather than start from scratch with an Aussie build car. |

That idea has been on my mind and when I want a drag car I'll be on racingjunk.com and buying something done, and it's defiantly a fox body mustang and there is a nice black one I'm keeping track off...............
