Hey all, I've been offered a brand new 2.5" stainless steel John Bowe twin exhaust system (cat back) to fit my BF Super Pursuit for a great price but I can't seem to find any info on them online, I remember there used to be a website but I can't find it anymore, does anyone know why that is? Also is anyone familiar with this system and is it any good??

Depends how cheap you are getting it for.

John Bowe Performance no longer exists. Whether it be because of business reasons, not being on the same page with ford dealers on these supposed legal modifications, or perhaps a few issues with suppliers they arent bad but it is a name you are buying.

If it is a good price compared to other quotes you have had, i would take it up. Its basically rebadged merchandise, but it doesnt mean its bad. But compared to a Defillipo or similar, i doubt it is in the same league.

Hey rio,

Sorry to change the subject on ya but does your ute still have the factory stainless tail section? I have the same car and there was a rattle in the tailpipe so the ford dealer replaced it under warranty and replaced it with steel!?! The dealer reckons there is only one part number and that's it. FPV have said there is another part number and they are talking to the dealer so I'm waiting for it to be sorted.

Cheers,
Pete.

Thanks for the feedback schnoods, much appreciated.

Hey Pete, not long after I bought my ute I had the rear muffler taken out to try and give a bit more of V8 note so the rear section is not factory anymore. I do recall though that I thought it was all stainless and I couldn't imagine FPV having too many varieties. Deal with a FPV dealer direct and it should get sorted out. Cheers.

Nice lookin rig pete! Mine is Lightining Strike with no stripes. After I took the muffler off it sounds a bit beefier when she idles but as you drive off I reckon it doesn't sound that good hence the interest in getting a new system. I recommend you don't go down that path and if you want more noise get a different system.

Nice, I wish mine didn't have stripes but unfortunately it was one of the last ones in existence so I couldn't be choosy.
Did you leave the resonators over the axle in place when you took the muffler off?

Yeah the resonators were left in place. I had an exhaust shop do the work and they only took out from just in front of the rear muffler from memory.
