Hey guys,

wondering if you fellas could tell me how to differenciate the sound of worn/sticky lifters and worn valve guides. What sound do the two issues make?
I can only describe the sound as a rapid, almost sewing machine like sound that increases with the rpm of the engine.

Sounds like lifters.

Thanks mate. At first I was certain it was the lifters so I used an oil flush and changed the oil but to no avail. Now I'm thinking I'll try some of that engine treatment specialist stuff for sticky lifters. Whatta ya reckon? Worth a shot?
