I am looking at getting a 85mm maf at a nice and cheap price. only problem is it is an inline maf (no flange).

I was thinking of using a pod filter adapter bolted onto the back of the box and conecting the maf to the adapter making it an inline maf effectivley.

Can you guys see any probs with this setup?

No problem at all, in fact moving it slightly further away from the airbox witht he adaptor/joiner will increase its accuracy if anything. Just make sure, as with any MAF it is actually calibrated for your setup or you have a way of editing the EEC to suit.
