Crap supercat mufflers on each unmerged bank with no resonators, pacemakers and stock cats.

Here's another of my old dead Redback system: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfBiPhr0asM&NR=1

Both of these videos are on a car that is cammed and has more compression than stock which changes the exhaust note more.

Ok, so unless you have a rebuilt motor with a cam it wont sound like yours :(
Still sounds good.
I think thats the mistake people make when they go for an exhaust, dont get one that sounds good on a worked motor coz your stock 302 wont sound like that

I hate to say it, but there are a few Commodores around here with great exhaust notes, a really tight, deep bass note that's not loud and crackly if you know what I mean?

My Ghia is due for extractor and new cats fitment soon and I'm sick of it being so droney inside the cabin with the stocky exhaust minus rear resonator. How do I get a quieter but much deeper, bassy exhaust note? Do larger diameter pipes and or mufflers create a deeper note, or just louder?

Mike

Has anyone tried HOOKER mufflers,
i was thinking about using them on my ed after i've turbo'd it
going to start with a single 3in muffler, and if too loud than i'l put in a second.

yes ive tried hooker and they sound s**t, i had a single 3 inch and it had no v8 note at all and droned really bad.
Hooker are cheaper, next time id buy a high quality lukey or magnaflow.
i suppose a 2.5 hooker would sound different though.
Everyone i know that has had hooker doesnt have them anymore :D
It wasnt loud.
Just my 2c

ok well lukey keeps comming up. might get a quote to get a small lukey straight through glass pack on each side.

so the system will be EL GT extractors, supposed high flow cats and twin 2.25 all the way with only these mufflers

Take cats off & hollow them out(smash out inners) , then go with a universal straight threw truck muffler, they are cheap. Or flow master

My guy swears by Lukey mufflers for the Windsors. Mine sounds really nice albeit abit quiet but I believe thats due to it having two mufflers on a single 2.5". Thinking of getting rid of one of them - just don't want it to drone.

BUt my point is the tone is tops, especially when you have to boot in at the low-mid end.

Keep in mind a loud exhaust lets everyone around you what your intentions are when passing etc..
They hear you and tend to close up on you if you want to pass...
Draws the crabs from the authorities also..
