I see you run 3.7 gears, what rpm do you do at 100kph?
:[/quote]

From memory 2000rpm for 100kph.

I just put a more stall in my eb 5.0 and the first time i stalled it up to check stall speed it went into limp home mode.
I was under the impression that you coul have up to roughly 2800-2900 stall before it went into lhm.
The convertor i have installed will stall up to 2000-2100 and flash to 2500 rpm.
I know that i will need to get a anti lhm module but im spewin because i thought i wouldnt need it.
Has anyone else had this drama? :?

IIRC the EB computer will go in to LHM at about 2600-2800RPM but the EF/EL computers will allow a slip of at least 2800-3000RPM

Awesome dude, good luck down there, bring home that 14sec timeslip.

I just bought a 2600rpm stall for the missus car, you've inspired me ;)

Just a thought jeff, are you going to run a set of diff gears in the au?
I definitely need a set of 3.7 in mine, in place of the 3.23 so its a bit more lively when im just putting around in traffic(normally under 2200rpm) :D
I found before the more stall i could putt around at under 2000 rpm easily but now it doesnt feel like its moving till im doing at least 2000rpm

Yeah we will definately be looking to move up to a set of 3.9's when $$ permits.
That sluggishness that you have now would be the engine riding the stall (slipping) have you upgraded trans cooler to aid in cooling due to extra heat the more stall will be putting into the oil?

I dont normally give my car a hard time on the street and i normally service it after going to the drags so i thought i could get away with the stock cooler :? In saying that you have almost convinced me to get an upgrade now
I reckon your au would go very well with the mods you have mentioned because my old au 5.0 ran 14.9 at 93mph and was 95% stock

Yeah man, definately worth the upgrade. Nice big coolers can be sourced pretty cheap these days and are basic to fit.
Mate, if i could get the missus car down to 14.9 i would be well chuffed.

I spoke to nigel at alfred cove automatics today and he said that the factory cooler should be easily up to the job of handling the more stall, knowing what im like, there will most likely be an upgrade in the distant future though.
You can never be too safe

i found that in my first fairmont EB1 - i got a 2500 stally and would flash to 2800 that would trigger limp home mode.... When i converted it to EEC 5 from an EL the problem was solved. The later computers are suited to higher stalls i would say EF onward. get an EF v8 computer.
