Hi, nice first car you have there.

Have you confirmed yourself that you are legally allowed to drive the car in Vic? You might want to have something in writing about it, because I dont think the cops will accept a "but my dad says I can drive it" as an acceptable excuse when they try and take the car off you.

Did the AUII's have the 220kw engine yet? I'm juuuust legal with the Sprint in vic, but the if the AU is only the 200 they are a fair whack heavier so it should all be good..
Law says 125kw/ton
Sprint 195kw (ford) / 1579kg (ford) = 123. 49 kw/ton
Just feel lucky you don't live in NSW...
The laws for all you guys now bite the big one.
Anyone see motor where they highlighted the fact that a Lotus Elise is legal where as a smart 3 cylinder turbo isn't?

nice ride.. pain on the insurance, i pay $3500 here in SA for this first year on my EL 2 XR8 and that was the cheapest for me at 19. Mind you it only does 50-100km a week cos of night work, so for me it's cheap 2 run! Keep it clean do us young drivers proud. I had a mate who worked at hungry's since he was like 14, he saved most of his pennies, and today at 20 has about as much as I earnt in half a year!! They thieve you in fast food!

$3000?? *CHOKE*
That is obviously with your name on the policy yeah?
And you might not need an exemption to drive it as the Series II had IRS, and with only 200kw (never thought I'd say that) it should squeeze under power to weight here in Vic.

Nice car mate!
You better get used to older guys knocking you for having a car like that.
I get it everyday, even though I have paid for every cent myself.
Watch out for rain and the limo! Not a good combo if you dont know what to expect!
Have fun!
And yeh, I know how fun the insurance side can be!

great ride mate, kinda glad u liv in meblourne but, just so i wont have any 17 yr old 'P-PLATER' beating my a** with an XR8 LoL, insurance? just make sure ya work hard for it, my mate and his first car was an EL XR6, his insurance was hefty like $2g's/year, he just worked his a** off, now he's got a BA XR6-T paying $2.5g's/year, still works his a** off, just be careful with it but, otherwise have fun...
good old poverty pack XT $900/year insurance, i luv it LoL

Ahaha, frank you're hardly one to talk mate.

That is one SLEEK car. One of the greatest examples of the windsor V8. Enjoy the ride - they dont make em like that anymore.
