i got a custom system made a couple of weeks ago on my XR8 ute, i got high flow 100cell cats into single 2.5 all the way over the diff then split into 2 x 2 1/4 on each side with a 6"x12" round mufflers each side, sounds good when i rev it but when taking off hard it has a tinny rattle until about 3500rpm or so then sound good up top.

its also to drony when taking off but is almost silent at 110kmh.

will putting a hotdog in the centre between the cats and diff make it even deeper? and im not sure why the note is crap when below 3000rpm, its good when driving slow though. ive heard a few other 8's with the same s**t sound

Should be twin 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" all the way. Stack two Lukey ultra flow mufflers in the original muffler position and no others.

I can't get any mufflers before the diff because it's on LPG otherwise I would do that, I like the look of the twin out the back too

Perfect opportunity to get rid of the LPG  Or maybe stack the twin 2 1/4" pipes past the LPG tank and put the two mufflers right up the back side by side.

Glass pack mufflers (redback) , single muffler in each pipe should give it a deep growl.

I'm not sure what the mufflers are on there but it's fully run in now and doesn't drone as much, it also sounds better on LPG rather than petrol for some reason, it does the crap tinny sound more on petrol. Il go to where I got it done over the holidays and mabey see how some other mufflers sound

The tinny sound is more power...petrol has greater energy when it explodes.

Chambered mufflers are s**t if you can change to glass packs, deeper sounding and no tinny noise.

I had 3 chambered muffler on my raptor powered ebxr8 and i wasnt impressed.

Bigger [tail] pipe from muffler helps with deeper sound..
