if you plan to rebuild the engine the rest of the driveline will also need attention and the suspension+brakes would need checking over

get some quotes for the engine rebuild in tassie or vic,i had my engine re built after a major over heat, cost me 2,000,but i spent a week in my mates work shop, striping, cleaning and rebuilding it,so no labour costs.had to get some heads as well, only stock to get it running.

2k should buy you something with half the k's, something with that many km's will be lucky to get around $500

I just got an nf recently with half as many km's but with a 4.0L for $200 and it was still rego'd when I got it. I would agree and say 2 grand is a bit steep

If it's only 2K and you're going to mod the hell out of it I would only worry about wether it's been pranged or if it's rusty...mechanicals are easy to fix. stick a 351 in it like EBXR says(wow It wasn't me who said it first) Finally you guy's are learning!
