G'day,

I wanna change my standard NGK AP6FS sparkplugs to a Iridium plug or greater, be it NGK or by Bosch but I'm having trouble finding these plugs on the net.

Does anyone know if they make Iridium or Platinum plugs to replace the AP6FS or even the AP5SF plug?

Best bet is to check the NGK Catalog out. There should be an online version of it. I know Repco stores have a printed catalog under the counter, but you can't fit everything in the printed version.

Cheers

NGK Iridium TR55IX spark plugs are the bee's knees of spark plugs for the 5.0's. Supercheap sell them for around $22 per plug but I'm sure they can be found at a cheaper price.

While I think of it, Bosch HR8DPX platinum spark plugs are pretty good for the 5.0's too...They can be had for around $65 for a set of 8 at Supercheap.

I'd highly recommend the NGK Iridium TR55IX. I had them in my 5.0 AU ute and I know of people that have the same plugs in their 347 strokers. If you have a 5.0...Early E Series right up to the AU 5.0 then they are a direct replacement for standard plugs.

That rings a bell... (digs thru too chest - yep thought so, found my spare plugs, never hurts to have a spare or two).... that's the plugs I'm running in the Red Xr8 (Eb with GT40p heads). Good plugs, not too expensive either.

Cheers

Yep, A very good plug for the money...Excellent performance and good life span. They perform well with pretty much any brand of leads too. I'm currently running them in my ute but will be switching back to the TR55IX plugs once the Bosch plugs are dead.

I just picked up a set up of UR6IX's for my EL (185kw, injected LPG). Cost was $9/plug landed.

Thats a real good price for those...They usually sell for around $18 to $20 per plug so $9 each is a real bargain.

rockauto are a great place. They sell heaps of 5.0 gear. When I need a cam synconizer for my AU 5.0 I'll be getting it from them as they tend to sell genuine Motorcraft stuff at bargain prices...I'll get TR55IX plugs too.

Yup. But noone will sell me a powerbond ss series balancer for the US price even though their australian... that annoys me.

Ive also found that Ford Performance at Yatala (QLD) are awesome. GT40 manifold upper to lower gasket is $7 or so - not $50 or so as from ford.

Also have the Ford Motorsport Lead sets (9mm) in Black or Blue for $80 or so to suit the E Series Windsors

Word is the FRPP leads are now made in China junk. I went for MSD super conductors for around the same price from Summit.
