I was driving in to work today, and noticed that the trusty old Windsor EF Ghia is still a bloody nice drive- even when stock (Apart from 2.5 ' system)

I am a family guy and really, even on gas it still has plenty of power- or in the case of this little motor in stock form I reckon its should be called just TORQUE- coz really my manual Gas EB 6 has more Power funnily....

Just a little blip of the throttle encourages a nice little wheel spin from the word go, I can only Imagine what a Explorer Mani, and gt40p's and decent headers would do for it...ahhhhh well one day..

But the purring range from 2,000rpm- 4,000rpm in the Windsor is just great! Frankly even when stock a more rewarding, enjoyable drive then any NA six.

And to get 100k's per $10 of gas- is great, all Highway k's BTW,

And to pay $4,500 for the old relic.....shes still got a few things goin for her -I'm a happy camper

Do you Windsor lovers get what I mean, or am I a tosser?? *lol*

It was good to a degree. Used to love the response over the 6 when i first got it, until something a fairbit quicker pulls up alongside, that took the shine off.

It was punchy off the mark but just never seemed to hit that power band like the ls and boss motors have.

Still i wouldnt go back to stock now.

They stocker does have good midrange torque. Pity it completely runs out of breath past 4000rpm.

I think they suck balls stock, you really need GT40Ps and an explorer or similar as minimum.
THEN they are a really nice motor, best cruiser ever.

I have to agree that the old EF Ghia 5.0 is a great ride. I have had one the last 4 years and it never missed a beat.

Until the last 6 months........... I decided to trade it on a BF Fairmont Ghia 5.4, I pick it up Saturday morning.

The old ef was great but I am letting her go............................. :(
