hi people if i drive my ford 5lt through gears(its auto)it jumps into third gear and stays there, to fix it i havr to switch the off and start again and its all better, it does this from first to second only, any help please

hi

if it selects third gear and stays in third gear no matter what you do untill you turn it off it sounds a bit like limp home mode on the transmission to me..

Take the car to an autotrans place, it could be the inhibitor switch.Thats what my problem was, and while your there get ecu checked for codes.
