So as the topic suggests, anything I need to look out for in particular?

I used to frequesnt this website back in the days of falcon ownership and glad its still going. I had a stint of 4x4 for 5 years and now looking for something cheaper for a while (a guzzling v8 will be cheaper lol) I have an EB xr8 lined up and it looks the goods, just wondering what is sometimes hard to pick.

I'd check the entire cooling system, bushes, steering rack and pump, sump gasket, engine mounts, rear main seal, gearbox and diff. The motors are bulletproof unless treated poorly.

pretty much everything you would check on any e series ford, all the above mentioned, check the firewall for cracks or damage where the clutch cable goes into the firewall

It all looks ok as far as what has been said above.
