These crate engines sound like pretty good value for money. I'm looking at the new 342 GT40 aluminium head motor from Ford Racing to go into an AU2 XR8 auto, the spec in the Ford Racing catalogue says that it only comes with a manual flywheel - does anyone know if there will be any balance problems by swapping on the AU auto flexplate, does anything need to be rebalanced, also the front damper may need to be swapped so will that create balance problems as well?

The spec sheet also says that it has a 157 tooth flywheel with a 28oz balance factor. How would this compare with the AU auto flexplate?

Does anyone know the balance factor on AU 5.0 so I can figure out if the balancer and flexplate will swap onto the 342 crate motor - spec sheet for it says it has a 28oz balance factor.
