no i haven't check either of those.

can you please provide some more info on the gear box range switch? what input i should be looking for and where.

QLD, Australia
Trans Range switch - on the side of the gearbox. Has Neutral Switch init as well, is white (or black on really late ones). It has a resistor in it (actually, its a switched resistor ladder), that tells the ECU what gear is selected.

I put a signal analyzer on pin58 and im not getting a signal just a lot of static. what would be the cause of the static?
