whats some thoughts on this mod.
any dyno reports around showing the improvement? also does anyone know if the larger thottle bodys available do work or is it just a gimmick on these? getting bored of the power now. i think i need more! it might need a trip to visit Tony at CAPA

I seen them last night at the Ford Vs s**t Show, I spoke to the Bloke I think it was just a Bit over $2000 from memory.
I would like know if there is a difference in performance as well, but basically it just takes the air from the Shaker instead of the Air Box. The Bonnet also has to be Braced with a insert, But once there in they look s**t Hot, especially on the BA XR8s when they stick out of the Bonnet hump. |

I've already posted this, you can contact the company that does this for the BA V8's at www.shacker.com.au, there called Performance Shakers, there phone number is 0438 722 672.
They look bloody awsome, I've got a poster up in my bedroom of a GT and Pursuit ute side by side with them on. One of the issues of Performance Ford Magazine goes into detail with pictures on how to install/fit them. They actually work as an air intake, and I would think they'd make an improvement, maybe not on the dyno, but when your car is actually traveling as the air is getting caught into the shaker and sent down the piping if you get what I mean!?! |

XR8 Dismantler,
We had a bloke down in SA a couple of months back, down from NSW in a BA GT. He has all of his mods done at ford dealership by herrods (i assume you'd be doing it yourself?) The shaker is awesome and gave him a handful of kilowatts on the dyno - i forget how much exactly. He had a larger TB on there and one of these spacers which appear to be quite popular (helix spacer? TB spacer? something like that) before fitting the shaker. I'd say if you can get one for a good price it'd be the goods. Also looks very cool.

ok time to do some tests i think.
does anyone know where to get a throttle body and a throttle body spacer from at a good price.? and a ss inductions C.A.I id like to see what difference it makes on the dyno . antone had first hand experience on exhausts . what works ??? |

That's the one, heard that term before. Do you reckon the ram air induction would make a bit of difference when your over taking on the highway and such? Just outta interest... |

Ram air is great for throttle response. Makes it that much lighter when taking off. As for positive displacement (supercharger effect), won't cut in til you hit rouhly the 200kph mark.

Care to explain to me pleas what positive displacement is? Is that when teh air is being forced into the engine because the car is moving so fast? |

Forgot to mention that the larger the scoop, the lower the speed the positive displacement kicks in.
Even still, the scoop will have a false leading edge (parachuting terms), so if you bonnet isn't latched down, it'll take off!

TWR7CX - Correct! The air is forced into the intake by means other than the motor itself. At 200kph it's roughly 1-2 psi.

I can see this posing a problem 
But in all seriousness, id do it for looks alone  Its sweet. It was put there for a reason on things like the phase III, so it must do something effective enough. Id have to turn the idle right down to almost stalling though, or stick in a nice bump stick, otherwise it wont shake
