Hi everyone, I've recently put a turbo on my 2005 BA MKII XR8 ute, and my speedo isnt working. I've had an auto sparkie look at it and he changed one of the O2 sensors because he said the wires look a little dodge. But the wheel speed sensors all work correctly and he thinks that it could be somewhere from the wheel speed sensors to the ABS sensor to the ECU. But I was also thinking could it be the speed sensor gear in my gearbox? I've got a T56 gearbox.

As your ute is fitted with ABS, there is no speedo drive in the gearbox. All speedo readings are through the rear ABS sensor.

So does that mean that potentially it'll be my ABS sensor that will need replacing?

I've cleaned all the wheel sensors and they're all working fine now, but the speedo still isnt working..

Everything else on the cluster works just the speedo doesn't
When I took the car to get tuned by the Elite Automotive they for some reason they thought it was a BF not a BA so they tried tuning it for a BF and then when it obviously didnt work they tried re tuning it for a BA. |

Take it back to the tuner and have them take a look fix it. I'm guessing they have changed another setting or not set something up right in there somewhere so the speed signal isn't being received by the cluster.

Yeah hopefully they can. I'm a bit reluctant to go because they gave me so many issues before. But the current mechanic I have the car at I think are starting to run out of ideas. Same as me. Haha.
Yeah it goes hard. Got 465hp at the wheels on a very lean tune. So hopefully when the speedo is fixed and they can tune it properly it'll get a bit more power. |

So hopefully when the speedo is fixed and they can tune it properly it'll get a bit more power. nice, i'd be worried about the lean tune, would prefer it slightly on the rich side myself. i would be reluctant to go back there too. any other tuners in the area that may be more experienced? it might be worth asking your current mechanic if he is using a good scan tool to see if there is any different settings in the PCM.

Yeah I would prefer it to be slightly rich as well. The tune its got now is all because of the speedo not working it messes with the tune and goes to s**t. I'm going to ask my current mechanic if they'd be able to have a look at the ECU and see if they can see anything. Hopefully they do and it can be a simple fix.
