Can any1 plz tell me what the deal is with the sports exhaust advertised on ebay for the ef 5.0. Does it have a good note, not really looking for a performance gain just a nice sound. What does live axle mean, is that a sedan as opposed to IRS on wagons?

A live axle means a diff in the common sense, as opposed to IRS, but an EF wagon does not have IRS. It has a live axle on leaf springs as opposed to the sedans coil springs.

If you mean the one with the Redback muffler and rear system, thats what I have and it does sound pretty good. BUT, I also have pacemaker headers and sports cats.

I have the straight through rear (no hot dog or rear muffler), and it can drone at times.

Why not try a Lukey cat back system. A lot of the 5.0L owners on the forum seem to have these systems. PM/search for fairmont1998's post with a sound recording of his Lukey 3" Cat-back system on an EL 5.0L. Sounds awesome.

Fordforums also has a post in the V8 Windsor Section full of 5.0L Sound Clips. Check it out and it will surely give you an idea on what to choose.

a Lukey cat back system is the best choice i have ever made for a eb not so much for performance but for a nice note at 2000rpm
