58mm. Its a baby on the E series. 65mm on the AU's and 70 on the 200's. Plus i believe they are 83mm on the 5.6 stroker, but don't quote me on that.

Provided your manifold and EGR can support it, an AU 65mm is more than enough for a tough E series V8.

I havent seen them or know of them so cant really say, but a 65mm is the max i would go on a stock E series motor, and it will need a matching EGR, as the factory one is also only 58mm. I dont remember the size of the HO inlet, but if it supports a 65 then go for it. As a simple bolton, a TB needs to be part of a package, IE maff, intake pipe, TB/EGR manifold and heads to get the best out of it.

Cheers
Brett

i put an au 65mm t/b onto my standard ef 5ltr and picked up a bit of low to mid range torque. it was'nt anything spectacular but it was noticeable never got it dyno'd but at a guess id say i picked up about 5 or so kw. mine was a bog stocker apart from the twin 2 1/2" cat back and 1/2" phenolic spacer.

cheers

AU2 XR8 200kW got the 65mm TB, only the 220kW motors got the 70mm TB from the factory.

Spot on Brett.

Almost spot on ;)

As xafalcon said, 200kw AU's still had 65mm, the 220kw got the 70mm, and also the T3's T/B was 82mm.

But yes, as Brett said. Find an AU 65mm T/B, and preferably the matching 65mm "blank" EGR spacer. Fit them up and delete your EGR system, along with a nice 3" mandrel intake pipe and a 70mm AU MAF housing and that will give you the most out of that cheap little upgrade.
