I have an AU 5L and was wondering what has more bang for ur buck as such. Either stroke the motor to 347 or would it be better to supercharge with a Vortech V2 intercooled blower.

I guess it kind of depends how good your motor is and what you want out of it. Also the tranny you are running will help.

I just running the stock auto GBox but have had the pressure solenoid adjusted for quiker shifting. I love the angry sound of a stroker but when i spoke to BPT motorsport they said i would only get roughly 50 more RWHP than what it has now but bottom end torque would be heaps better. Just tryin to get a few peoples opinions on it

what is your budget? and yes it does depend on the condition/age of your bottom end....I would do the stroker if your bottom end is old and looking like needing replacing in the not too distant future

A stroker will yield a lot more torque down low. A set of good alloy heads and a matched cam will see a good increase in Horsepower too.

You should be able to get around 350-400 rwhp with a set of alloy heads and decent cam on top of the stroker. I would advise on a blower if your bottom end is good.

If your bottom end is good, BPT also do a Kenne Bell blower too that has a massive punch down low, not cheap but it does the job.

Auto would be up to the task, a good tranny cooler and a shift kit will do.

I dont really wanna spend anymore than $12,000. Motor has only done 150,000k and my mechanic said its in pretty good nick. It was previously owned by the police comissioner of W.A so i would like to think it has been looked after and nannered a bit.

Vortech blower $7995. Best bang for buck. If you want more, then start adding heads, intake etc.

If you did the above, it would cost more than a blower. Especially if you pay for labour and you will need to have someone to tune for you unless you can also do that yourself.

Go the blower mate you wont be disappointed.

No boost = constant lag.

Get a set of AFR 165s, cam, 1.7 roller rockers, custom exhaust, under drives and a custom flash tune. Through in some porting on the manifold or get a new aftermarket manifold.

Well under $12k and would be an absolute machine on the road.

Check the garage forum for some tough 5 litres.
