Hi Guys,

I'm in the market for a BF Super Pursuit.
Does anyone know what factory options/upgrades they had or are they all the same spec.

I test drove a 302KW BF MK2 yesterday, are there any differences between the 302 and the 290 besides tune?

I've found some articles and it seems leather seats for mk1 and leather standard for mk2.

Still can't find any more info on what all differences were for the 302kw vs 290.

Twin butterfly throttlebody unto the intake manifold from memory....slightly better breathing to get the 12kw gains. Im not sure if there were any internal motor changes though.

All reports at the time suggest it was a noticeable improvement over the factory 290, plus looked the goods.

The 302kw engine does not have the twin throttle body. It has different cams and higher 10:7:1 compression.
I had one. twas a great engine.

Cheers guys.

Does anyone know what year/if at all that Ford sorted the 5.5 oil and tensioner problems?

BA Mk2. Oil pumps aren't changed. They all have powdered metal gears.

Thanks XR9UTE

Is it worth changing the pump if I get it tuned to rev higher?

It's a good idea. I used a GT500 pump in my BA Pursuit.
You can also do billet gears in the stock housing or just go straight for a pump from the likes of MMR.
Use the powerbond underdrives on it. Other brands are not actually made for the 5.4 engine.
The 302 kw engine is a good candidate to spin up. They sound great in stock form too.

There's 2 I'm looking at at the moment.
One has the 302 but the colour is not a nice silver and it's done nore k's.

The other is a 290 blue colour. Much nicer all round and hasn't done many k's at all.

I've been reading a few reviews about the Super Pursuits and most sites are saying the 5.4 is a bit of a dissapointment. Also how it handles brakes etc so the Maloo is the better option.
Now I'm not going to buy a Holden, not because they don't make good cars but because I simply enjoy the history and build style of Ford.

To be honest just the same as the windsor I was trying to get power out of, it seems the 5.4 is difficult to extract power and I'd just have to go straight to Coyote.

By the way, I did test drive a FG GT-P 5.0 which was good but 55k is a big jump up from 20k - 25k and unless I had the "I absolutely have to have it right now or I'll die" feeling, I wasn't going to spend that much. So I went back to Super Pursuits and am looking how I can get a bit more bang out of the 5.4.

It's looking grim without a blower :/

Ok, well if you're thinking of an FG you can buy my '13 GS for 48k.
Yes the leaf spring lets the chassis down but if you use good gear it goes a long way to improving things. I use Bilstein/H&R progressive rate coil overs and you can get four link conversions for the rear end too. As for the 5.4 there's a number of things you can do but supercharging is probably the best.
In the end a MorePoo is just plain ugly and expensive and you need a lot more money to make power.

I'd go GT-P if it was a coyote. but maybe in another 5 years. To be honest my dream car is a GT40 replica with a coyote :)

Regarding 5.4
Agressive Tune
Full exhaust
Intake
300rwkw?

Also, I'm not sure what a four link conversion is.
