yes they did, and as we all know the winning ba super cars still run the windsor 5L motor or whatever cubes they make them.

Im a ford supporter but I like holden too. Well I dont like the bad service from holden, or the lies, or the problems with the piston slapping LS1's , other than these main points I think they fairly equal. Have you seen that latest add from holden scaring drivers into sticking with holden servicing ? F**k me go the scare tactics.

It's a bloody shame I didn't get to test drive an AU3 XR8 but they are out of my price range. Instead I bought a gen3 6 speed manual with a few mods to it. I just wonder if my loan will get approved, I don't think it will and if that's the case i will still be driving my reliable cheap to run AU forte dual fueler. But if I do get the SS hope you guys still pull over to help me when it breaks down !!

at least you're honest about the problems they have, and yeah seeing as you already have the unfortunate case of driving the holden, we will pull over to help, we feel for people like yourself, lol
there is a website about the piston slap - www.pistonslap.com
it's dedicated to GM, lol.

Dont worry, xshore, if your SS Commodore breaks down, give me a call and I'll come and give you a tow to the nearest Ford dealership for a trade-in (jokes) LOL

I did add that comment about the 6 speed manual SS and it does seem like a direct comparison, but without comparing I will say that I Was very dissapointed with the XR8. It really felt that my au I6 falcon had almost as much power. I wouldn't mind hearing from someone if they have driven both the xr8 AU series 1 and 3 and how they compared.
ive got a series 1 au xr8 manual and i love it its not the fastest but ill run any i6 au as for the vt vx they may go a little better but for how long? also what are you after a whole package or just a fast car if you just want speed spend $20,000 on a old style capri with a clevo in it you wont get passed very often then, but truly as a package the au is a good thing i just wished i got a live axel instead of irs but hey its your money buy a vt if thats what you want i test drove a few and would have only got a 5.0 not a 5.7 oil burner but then i sobered up and relised i can only own fords

We just went to whip a*** wednesday at motoplex, Perth and pretty much they were running 15's, there where also 2 SS crapadores running about the same as well.
Next week we plan to take the TE down there and see what sort of time that will do probally somewhere in the 14's.
