I've been doing a little bit of searching, looking for a bit of info on the 250kw Tickford motor that went into the T3 TE and TS50s, as well as the Pursuit 250. I've not found much more than it makes 250kw and 500nm.

Can anyone tell me if the blocks are standard 302 blocks, or are they of a higher quality? Is there much head work done on them? Also, what is the cam they have in them?

One more thing. Is the manual gearbox a t5 or something capable of handling a bit more power? I'd imagine 500nm would be pushing a t5s ability.

There not a 347, but
well try this site for some extra info
http://tseries.info/Add.html?0039ae20
They use a Tremec T5 iirc.

also the heads where still the yella terror spec built ones found on the 220. pretty sure there just another explorer block striped down, with a Ford custom forged crank, designed and built here in aus.

There is also a video on u-tube some where of one being built with some guy dribbling s**t about them.

They are a 342, based on the standard block, with a Tickford manifold, (completely different to any other 5.0L manifold) and a Tremec TR3550

They are 5.6L in 342ci with the same block as any other AU 5.0.
Not sure if they ran a mains girdle or not though and IIRC the rods were made by an australian company "Argo".
They use the same GT40P's as the 220kw engines which were modified by Yella Terra.
Tickford designed manifold with 82mm T/B.
I think the cam specs are similar to that of the 220kw's.
Yep the box is also the Tremec TR3550.

According to ford the AUIII pursuits were a 250kw 347ci hand built motor.

If your looking for info on these engines PM paulhowes as he has a AUIII pursuit and i know he has a lot of very reliable info on them.

I'm about to look at the link from nicskitz...

So it's pretty much a stroked XR8 220 with larger TB and box type (is that the right name?) intake?

Still 24# injectors or are they upgraded too?

Nope, still got 24lb injectors. Fuel pressure might be different though, but i'd say its the same as AU 220kw coz thats already quite high.

If only people weren't asking so much, they'd make a nice upgrade

Not much difference between the 220 and 250 kw engines. You can sctually run a stroker 220 quite comfortably on the stock tune and still get a descent power hike.
The 302 revs alot nicer then the 342. Why not just get a 351? 396ci stroker could still run eecv on a conservative state of tune.

There are a few in carpoint.com.au

I'm not in a position at the moment to do anything, but like the looks of the Pursuit 250.

I've already got the 302 and have been thinking about stroking it, but then I figured why not upgrade to something that's already stroked. It'll save me a lot of time and hassle and I'll have something newer at the same time. Then I've got a better base to modify on.

As nice as a 351+ci would be, it'd end up being a huge pain in my a***.
