Your thermostat controls the temp so it wouldn't be running any hotter.

Looks like another little test for Streetbuilt to do on the dyno. Run a stock 302 without underdrives, then fit a set with the car still on the rollers and run her up again...

Yeah, we'd just need to find a suitable car for the test. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to do it on an EB GT. Will try and get on to it after I get home in a couple of weeks.

Andy, I wish we had more E-series over here that I could have a play with. I might have to go over that way for a working holiday some time.

Ill look into it, thanks heaps.
Do they actually give a noticeable gain? Do I need replace idlers/tensioner pulleys too, or stock ones are fine?

They produce a noticeable gain over the entire rev range. In fact they're the best performance bang for the buck on a 5.0.

So I was looking at the summit racing ones, and I dont know enough about them to understand what im looking at, which ones will fit, etc... They're for mustangs, not falcons, the crank looks too big, and the water pump is ribbed, on my xr8 water pump is smooth...
Ive also been thinking about this one http://www.bptmotorsport.com.au/home/pr ... detail/246 ?

Hi Guys - found reading through this pulley post interesting, and I'm hoping someone with experiance can assist :-))

Situation - I've brought and installed an aftermarket WP pulley that measures 5.7in which is the same measurement as my AU HBalancer. The after market WP was a flow cooler and when it arrived the factory WP would not fit as it was to small and shallow... hence the only WP I could get to fit was the current spec mentioned.

So now after reading up - i feel I have created an under driven set up which is good or have I misunderstood the concept ???

Also ---

Question - is this a workable ratio for my engine ?? ( 347 )

Question - can my factory fan belt can be used ??

Thanks in advance - just trying to cover as many bases possible prior to install :-))
