My brother's XR8 Ute isnt starting, we worked out that the throttle body isnt working ie it wouldnt move when gas pedal is pressed so i just replaced the TPS then and it is still not moving.

Any ideas as to what could be the problem????
Also my brother been as smart as he is f**k with the other side of the throttle body (cant rememeber what it is called) so i dont know if that might effect it or not

Need help asap

Cheers

mate if you are having problems with it not starting you need to check it out using a diagnostic computer.

there are many many reasons why the throttle may not move, and this may only be a side issue.

I had an issue where my XR8 would not start, the engine would turn over but would not fire. In the end I had to replace the ECU. If your having the same symptoms then get a hair dryer and heatup the ECU until very warm then try and turn it over. If it starts then your ECU may be faulty. About $900+ for a new one.
Cheers.

also another thing to try if the tb aint movin would maybe be the accelerator pedal position sensor. as the throttle body dont have cable's they have a sensor on the accelerate pedal but really just take it to ford and get them to plug it in or call someone with a diag computer to pin point it
