The ED is minus engine at the moment. So whenever a vehicle at my house has an empty engine bay I must try the V10 in there.

Image

Fits in there quite easily, even with the radiator still in place.
Image

Plenty of shock tower clearance...around 30mm.
Image

and the left hand side...
Image

The heater pipes are an issue..
Image

Obviously you'd use a BA A/C compressor..
Image

I didn't bung the sump on backwards this time but it looks like there's plenty of clearance from the rack etc. I think the water pump crossover tube and supporting bar on the K-member would need removal to allow a proper sump, although maybe less of a problem on a V8..
Image

Once again Booster clearance is an issue but this photo is from the wrong angle because there is still a lot of space behind this head. It's possible that some rocker cover reshaping could help too. V8's will of course be less critical here as they can sit further forward anyway...
Image

Surprising amount of room for engine mounts and headers. Right hand starter doesn't look possible which is ok because you'd probably use a bell mounted BA one anyway...
Image

Looks long doesn't it? It is of course, sitting too far forward, even so there's plenty of room out front...
Image

Image

Bonnet clearance would be a problem. Less so on a V8 especially a 4.6.

The most likely scenario is a 3V V10 or a 6.2 Hurricane engine in my Pursuit but, I have too many projects on the go already so it's not likely to happen anytime soon. There's nothing stopping you though

If you actually read what I said...there's plenty of room for headers.
Yeah Ash, any 4.6 or coyote would be easier still...btw stop tempting me  ...that's a great deal!

An '83 Bird is a Fox body so it will fit piece-o-piss! In fact the guy I talked to a coupla years ago put a V10 in his '89 Mustang and he was fitting two turbos as well!? He dyno'd it stock and it made 330 at the rears, which is amazing considering his non-PI version is only rated at 260hp.
