hi,

sometimes the NF fairlane starts and sometimes it wont.

ATM its not starting. Everything is appears to be fine, all the electronics turn on and the battery is fully charged. However, when you turn the key, the engine wont even turn over. no warning lights are appearing on the dash. everything seems normal except it wont turn over.

It done this before but we never got around to figure it out because the next day, it will start up fine.

I know it might be the starter motor but i dont want to replace that until i am very certain its that, because it looks really new and i dont want to buy another one to find out its not it.

Can some one give me advice.

Sounds like a prob I had a while back.

I replaced my starter and all was fine then one day no crank.
The starter didn't even click but having just replaced it I noticed that the thin starter wire's clip was quite loose on the connecter so I gave it a jiggle and the car fired up no probs.
To stop it happening again I just pinched the spade connector so it sat on nice and tight. The connector has a spring lock on it but it was only holding the wire on not making a good electrical connection.

So look for anything that might be a bit loose (and make sure the battery terminals are in good shape also).

Beyond that you'll have to get out the multimeter and start doing a few tests. :D
