Well I have pulled out the 351 in my fairmont to replace the s**t cork sump gasket with a rubber one.
now is the time to request photos of the install that you would like to see.

Would like to see clearance between firewall and top of inlet manifold, also how close the front end dress is to the thermos, and clearance between extractors and shock/strut towers.

Front dress is the same distance away from thermo's if you use 5.0 Falcon stuff.

What sort of front dress clearance to shock towers is their in the EL? Specifically aircon/powersteering side?

Here is a pic of the front dress.
I have routed the belt differently so I can use the stock belt.

Good job on figuring out the belt route.

My main concern is how did you go for bonnet clearance ?

Also what deck height 351 do you have (9.2" , 9.5" , ....) ?

Production 351W's are all 9.5" deck or 9.48" for '69-'70 blocks.
Only Ford racing or aftermarket blocks are available with a Cleveland deck of 9.2". Also most all aftermarket blocks have cleveland 2.749" mains as opposed to the windsors' 3.00".

The belt route was accidental. Everytime I put a new belt on the 5.0 I installed it this way and it would be to long. How do you like that f**k.

OK here is what has been holding me up.
I think I will run it with the new bearings until it looses oil pressure again and then go silly.

This is the grinding I did to the converter mounting lugs to get it to fit the flexplate.
It is a scat flexplate but if you use a different brand you may not have to do any grinding.
You can see the bead just below the ring gear that was stopping the converter sitting flush.

If I was to do this again I think I would use the AP-01 from www.pricemotorsport.com instead of tracking down a 351 manifold.
