hi guys
im really stuck and im not sure where to go next...
i have replaced the 302 in my nf and i cant work out why the F#$K it wont start!!!
it well doing my head in and im sure its just something stupid.

to work out top dead center i got the no1 piston (closest to the alt) to the top ant moved the crank to the 0 marking in the middle of the scale etched in the harmonic balancer. pulled the dizzy out and set the rotor to the no1 lead closest to the front of the motor. when it cranks i can hear it back firen. moved the dizzy around a bit to see if that would help but no dice.

there is fuel going through, i got spark, there is no leaks but im pulling my hair out trin to work out why.

Can anyone see where i have gone wrong?
if anyone knows a mechanic that come to your house please let me know cos i need to get this bucket going. im in brunswick and im happy to pay as im no mechanic. i just cant work out what the issue is

thanks guys any help would be ausom

You are probably 180 degrees out. Either swap the leads 1 & 6, 3 & 5, 7 & 4, 2 & 8. Or pull the dizzy and rotate the shaft by 1/2 a turn & reinstall (without swapping the leads)

so if i set the no1 piston to the top and move the crank till the pointer is sitting on 30deg mark on the balancer thats correct? there is a line cut into the balancer whats the go with that? the rotor it sounds like is corect as i had it set to the no1 point at the back of the rotor cap.
