Just got a quote for 200KW AU XR8 engine for $900, I think thats pretty cheap, with my options of (A) current engine in the EB is not in the best condition (Oil pressure drops when hot & Blow bye).
(B) Engine in NC is in better condition (My mate says to at least get a better cam/cam regrind) before swapping the engine.
(C) If I purchase the 200kw AU XR8 engine, will it drop straight in?, can I use the same Auto box & same ECU that is in the EB at the moment?

I know if I was follow the doco http://www.fordmods.com/ford-v8-f2/some-basic-mods-cost-info-for-upgrading-your-v8-t100801.html I have found it can be expensive getting the bits & pieces separate.

As I understand it :

1. EB Extractors will work, but not nicely. You'll need specific ignition leads otherwise they will be directly heated by the extractors (due to plug angle). Aftermarket has options here.
2. Use the EB Dizzy - remove the AU Synchroniser and plug in.
3. Some mods required for the TPS if your using the GT40 Manifolds - apparently not too hard. perhaps a file or something?
4. Harmonic Balancer swap so you can use your E-Series Accessories.
5. No EGR on the AU Engine. no real loss, but you'll need to make sure the original EGR is still bolted on or a simulator is used so the ECU doesnt get unhappy

Im sure Pete will have more to say about it

The 200kW XR8 injectors need different plugs, but regardless they will over-fuel an already rich engine on a stock ecu calibrated for E-series injectors. The stock MAF will max out before 200kW so the bigger injectors on a stock ecu may actually help avoid a lean melt-down at WOT??? But your fueling will swing from super-rich to something less than that (may still be rich but could be lean, depends when the MAF pegs) when hard accelerating.

Spend some more money and get a piggy-back chip that will make the injectors and a bigger MAF run properly. Everything will work nicely then, and you will have a reliable 200kW rather than a petrol drinking pig

Jeez this has to be just about a weekly occurrence?!
I think we should have sticky on this?
if you want to drop it in and go, use...
EB front dress, water pump and balancer.
EB distributor, harness and injectors.
EB MAF
EB engine mounts
EB headers
EB t-body
EB auto will bolt straight up
EB EEC will of course work.
ACT sensor will need to be relocated to the inlet elbow

If you want to do more than drop it in and go that's a different story.

Thank you very much for this detailed answer and I think it would be a good idea to make this a sticky thread.
