IU went to autobarn today, guy told me not worry about k&n filter for the ghia (5.0 ) coz its on gas, and the mixer ring is restrictive and wont allow better airflow anyway.

From what I can see its not like the EB 2 6cyl I have where the gas has a big part between the airbox and the throttle body. Gas is mixed there and the air mix goes up the air tube in the EB.

from what I can make out the GAS system on EF Ghia 5.0 does not have that it has airbox,MAF-tube- then goes to motor and it is infact just before the throttle body where the car has a small copper pipe where it feeds the gas.

does this type of system actually have this "ring" that restricts air flow???

Please help *lol*

look inside the pipe where copper pipe goes in,all will be revealed---------donut\ring mixer inside? to supply gas with incoming air, before the butterfly--control.

simple mixer, most probably a sprint gas mixer attached to the throttle body..

I've got one of those rings you talk about on my EB 6cyl... wish there was a good solution for making it flow better. Is it actually there to restrict airflow on purpose?
