Hey guys

I have sold my EF and bought a Ba wagon as a family car and i plan to leave it alone and get a toy to fiddle with.

my wife's sister lives on KI and said she has a XF 302 ute that i can have for a few 100 to get it off their farm it still starts and drive's fine.

Will need alot of work but thats what i am after.

only thing is im sure the XF's did not have V8's i thought they droped them in the XE and came back in the ED.

i could only get 1 pic of it and as she has no phone reception she cant send me one of the engine bay.
she is sure its a 8 but i dont wanna drive to Ki and find its a L6 and i have wasted my time.

Any Help?

Nope, no XF's had V8's but that doesn't mean one hasn't been put in it. Can't they take a photo of the engine bay for you?
If that car has lived in the bush it's probably full of red dust and likely a rust bucket.
The body condition would be my only concern...anything mechanical like a V8 conversion is easy.

she said there is a small amount of rust in the back tray. but for $200 if it is a 8 its worth me getting.
I plan to redo the inside and cut all rust out and respray it. just hoping the chassis is not rusted anywere otherwise i think it should be a good pickup

I'd still be asking for more photos. Particlularly the engine bay, then the door jambs with close ups of the A-pillars...if there's any bubbles here the whole thing will be riddled with it.

A good running stock 302, either Windsor or Cleveland is worth about $500.
