Gday,
Im not sure if there is another post for this subject couldnt find one I have an auto xh V8 ute and wanting to know what the best bang for buck mods would be for it its got extractors and a 3" exhaust on it currently saving up for a manual conversion. Whats the best bang for buck stuff to get its a budget build. Im wanting to keep it streetable but be able to go to the track and do burnouts and be a 12 or 13 second car.
Cheers guys

The standard heads and intake and throttle body are very restrictive on that motor. If you can find at least the au xr8 series intake and a set of gt40 heads and maybe a bigger throttle body it will help the motor breath better. Otherwise you will probably looking at cam and roller rockers etc. will make it a nice motor, they already have roller hydraulic lifters in. But that will cost you a pretty penny to get all that stuff, and if you can't install your self the cost of getting it done. Or just get a stroker kit.. Ha ha

If you want to run 12's or 13's then don't use factory heads, intake etc. It won't get you there.

Yes but why was it deleted?
Depends if you want to disturb the engine really? You could match port the lower to the heads and the upper to lower. See the sticky at top of page to see what things you can do.

All Windsor headers will bolt up but the genies will not clear the spark plugs on AU heads or they may clear but you can't get the plugs in or out. AU suspension does not fit earlier models.

I won't tell if you don't. Leave em off. Or just put the heat shields off a stock set over the pipes so it looks like you have em.
