I decided to drop a bit of money on my girl last week (2006 BF XR8) and fitted a new pod filter and box, yella terra twin throttle body and plenum, new oil pump and gears, Herod camshaft, 25% underdrive pulleys, DPE 4-1 extractors, hi flo cats, and a DPE 3" big boy exhaust. After a custom tune she managed to pull a very uninspired 224.2rwkw which even the tuner thought to be low given the condition of the car.

Anyone got any ideas what could be dragging her down and how to get her closer to the magical 300 mark?

Sorry mate but from where you are now to where you want to be, only cams and a snail/twin snail/supercharger can get ya there.

224rwkw is pretty good power for a daily driven car.

Ok seriously, my observations are; twin t-bodies are a waste of time on a 260, twin 3" exhaust is too big for a 260, Cams I'm sceptical about on engine with only 9.5:1 compression.

I have YT Plenum cams etc on my 260 and did 260-265rwkw on multiple dynos. I also have a straight through Duel 3" on my car. Just Cams zorst custom intake on Herrods dyno did 262rwkw. Twin throttle picked up even more down low and Sh!t loads more Throttle Response.

have you had a compression test to make sure no issues there?

FYI i picked up another 5-7rwk by dropping the zorst @ the extractors.

Link to mine, also a few other vids on my channel.

Should be making heaps more than that. I have a mate that has done full exhaust, cai and tune at herrods and is making 245rwkw

Just an update, the only thing anyone has been able to pin it to thus far is the sticky tyres (Kumho KU36), wont know until I wear these ones out and stick on a harder pair. But that's alright, just got 3.9 diff gears put in, so the improved get up and go will keep me amused until then (and prolly help wear out the tyres faster too)
