Does any1 know of some1 who puts red or white walls on tyres.
Ive seen it done were they take a groove from the side wall and inlay the colour into the groove , i used to have a card of a guy who did it but lost it many years ago.
Im restoring an XC GXL 351 back to origional condition and would love red walls on the stock rims for that muscle car feeling.

Please help.

i was talking to a few friends last night after work and one of them has got a red stripe through his corolla tyres. next time i see him, i'll ask him where/how he got it done.

I think they stopped making red wall tyres about 2 years after I bought my GTHO circa 1972 :roll: :D

yer they did

goodyear aquajets i think they were called?

read someone some company is redoign that tyre in the same tread pattern etc for those cars...

I know i can still get get wall tyres but there over 300$ a pop if i can get a good tyre and have the red walls inlayed that would b better , i know there are people out there that do it

i think i might have read something in street machine on the redwall tyres.. cant really remember when it was tho... so that doesnt help ya much - sorry

think i remember them saying that if they could be illegal due to the cutting of the sidewall or something? :?:
