Yeah I had to change the whole petrol tank over, the old one had a too smaller hole on top to get the fuel pump in.

Thanks guys for all your help,so far I've oiled up and replaced the door handles including one that was on it's way out,and while I was there I hit the window motors where two of them looked as if they did'nt have much life left all the little plastic wegdes were mashed and crumbled( you know between the gears)I cleaned the bits out and replaced with bits of rubber it works a treat if not better.
Im not having so much gain way on the loom plug yet but I've got another manual on it's way witch I've got off trademe hopefully it's got more detail of the wiring but I'll let you know how it goes.
P.S Painted my interior(door grips on the pannels, console, airvents.etc)with Dupli paint, just to break that old boring grey,it looks great I'll place pics of my project when I've worked out how to do that?
Cheers guys.

Quote " In january 1986, it became compulsory for new cars to run on unleaded petrol. XF engines were revised, resulting inslight drops in power, and increasing fuel consumption." unquote. However i have 2 xf s paks and both efi and so far so good.

No need to do that, one of them is an SVO that is not only quick off the mark but runs past the speedo of 190 klms quite easily, and the other has a locked diff which is even quicker off the mark and deadly to 170klms an hour so i am not fussed. You had it there put it in and if you do want the xf efi to "walk the walk" then just change the computer system and BOB,s your uncle.lol

You don;t need to change the dash wiring to get the efi working, just BOTH under bonnet looms. When I did the conversion all I had to do was hook up the computer loom that went to the computer and was based on the left side of the car. This computer and engine loom plugs into your second loom the one that goes down the RHS on the car to the battery, starter, alternator headlights horn etc. This loom then goes inside the cabin and plugs into the dash system.
The under dash stuff is the same on carby and efi you just have to change all underbonnet wiring and you'll have to run a wire from part of the RHS loom which contains the fuel pump relay back to your fuel pump. This RHS loom also contains the ECU relay, basically its all plug and play.
