Ride: 1995 Xg Falcon ute

My xg ute has 1 and a half turns to the right and only 1 turn to the left the steering stops are not being touched when at full lock ,any help ?

Is the steering 3 turns lock to lock in the XG's ??

I wonder if the idler arm bush is screwed up too many threads - IIRC it is RH thread so when the steering is moving to left lock the thread is doing up and might be binding before full travel.
Sound plausible ??

I wouldn't think the sector lash adjustment on the steering box is too much, as it normally binds around the straight ahead position.

Make the steer wheels straight.

Remove the control arm from the Box.
centralize the box, ie, lock to lock and halve the turns to get the box in the centre, replace the steering arm, reposition the steering wheel.

Yeah, good point - the pitman arm might not be fitted in centre position of travel.

The pitman arm should have a master spline, so it can only fit one way. Unless someone bodged it...
