Gidday i need someone to please inform me which power steering unit to put in my XY i've been told an XA - XC will fit straight in with an XF pump. Can anybody confirm this for me or recommend a better set up thanx.

yes it will fit i've done powers steering work for over 2 years, can't remember exactly but think xf box will go in, as for xf pump you need all the bracketry and pump from xa-c because the brackets need to be modified to take the xf pump and the earlier pulley also needs to be bored for the xf pump so it sits inlin with your other pulleys. i think the xa pump shaft was 17 or 19 mm and the xf shaft is 19 or 21 mm or there abouts. but is an easy enough conversion if done correctly. can't remember which coupling to use or if it a combination of both xy and xf couplings, top section of 1 and bottom secton of the other.

Go to a shop such as fulcrum and buy a reco PS pump for the car. They use the later pump and have already worried about the brackets.
