well sounds like an intake problem. i'd clean out the throttle body and reset the ecu. then let it idle for a bit. or it might not be getting enough fuel, as the car goes to full injector rate when at full throttle, reguardless of tuning

just did a test with a temp thing on the box. dad brought a indoor outdoor thermo for the house and i highjacked it for a bit.

at cruising speed (65k +) the temp was about 24-25 degrees. when i got going the temp dropped pritty quick too. so for open road stuff, its a must.

did some around town slower stuff too. didn't cool down as quick, as you'd expect. hottest temp i picked up was 45.7 after i'd left the car sit for half an hour. if your average speed is nothing more then around town stuff (50 or less) i wouldn't do this. (i think) the engine will just stuck hot air. not to say tho that it might not still go good.

the thing i think is the pipe that comes from over the radiator to the bottom of the air box would get hotter and put just as much hot air in as these holes because as soon as airflow goes through the radiator the plastic would heat up pritty quick.

and i knew a guy that drilled a big f**k hole on the engine side of the box. and in all honisty, it didn't go to bad. but the sound of induction was like the world was coming to an end!!!!!

Do you think this would work in an ED? Same sort of box, not sure about its surroundings however.

Ignore that, I am tired and stupid. The EF and ED boxes hardly look alike.

i had very simular problem when i did the speed holes. what i found fixed it,
was the hose that comes off the top of the fuel presure reg, i blocked it off.
has increased fuel pressure slightly but has also fixed my lack of fuel when
giving it s**t off the line problem.
give it a try and hopefully it works for you guys.

you'd want to be careful you didn't turn the car in to a VE SS doing that

they had a habit of disconnecting the fuel line inside the engine bay and spraying fuel on the header pipes.

hey guyz i installed a pod in my auto el today took like 20mins and cost a grand total of $35,makes a small diference bout a car length across 200meters :) worth the money.
it was about 30c today.warmed the car stock 400m up then 400m back, installed pod an hour or so later then did lap again noticable difference had reached 100km bout 1 to 1.5 car lenghts quicker than usual.i use a change in road surface as reference  . i then cut the lower right hand corner out of the air box to take advantage of whatever free flowing air this part of the bay had to offer holy sh*t did this make a difference not really in power but in response and noise .my exhaust now breaks note around 2 1/4 revs a whole 1000 revs less then stock intake and it is hell grumbly now ,even when i give it a little punch down low.
i am glad im not a p plater anymore lol

i have been scrounging round th front bar /front grill looking for a way to get a pipe through.
its pretty obvious i wont be able to get anythin bigger than a 20mm (outer) pipe and 20mm inner if i cut a bit of the back of th r/h head light bracket out mindin the ac ,wires an other crap.
basically garden hose size .could put a funnel on it ! pointless really.
i have come to the conclusion that the only way of getting actual cold air to my engine without drillin a 50mm hole in the structure of the car or removing a head light, is through the bonnet a small vent above the box and 1 in it .
or removing a small piece of bonnet next to the snorkel which would look sh#t house.
plus the only way to test wether or not your air is actually colder is to stick temp sensor in the pod and see .pretty sure d**k sell a digital temp gauge with long sensor wire for bout $20
el/ef has to have the worst positioned throttle body and worst designed plenum thingy i have ever seen thats my 2 cents on el/ef cai

air from the bonnet is passive though not aggresive
