They'd be same installation.

I thought EL GT snorkels are same size as AU XR8 snorkels?

need sum help with mine...tryed to tackle it on the weekend and failed

i cut the hose and fitted the pod to see that the outside clip ( square thing) was not lined up with the ones on the box.

after sussing it out further it seems that my pod is hitting the top of the airbox so their is no way it will fit properly. atm i have the pod sitting on the house with only a hose clamp and not screwed in.

also the intake going to the throttle body had to be unbolted becuase the outside screws dont line up on the outside the throttle body intake pipe does not line up either.

so pretty much it is all on 2gether except it is not 100% gap free and it is only being held on my hose clamps.

i was thinking of fitting the pod over the pipe in the box and then cutting the airbox to fit over the top of the intake pipe(going intot he airbox),.,,if that makes sense

so their would be a 5-10mm gap around the intake to the airbox...

You could just buy a 3in 45degree storm water bend from Bunnings for $2.50 and epoxy glue it into the back of the lid. Then put your pod on the end of that.

i just looked back through here and realise i havnt posted the way i done it. seems alot cheaper.

i used:
EF intake pipe
EL corrigated bend from top right corner of the engine bay
1L metho bottle

i removed the airbox lid and took out the center snorkel and bracket, i then cut the metho bottle so a 1.5-2inch wide circle and placed it in the pod filter hose and then done the same to the EL intake pipe side, slid the EL pipe through the airbox lid and joined to the EF intake pipe. the reason i used the metho bottle as i wasnt prepared to pay the $30 price tag supercheap was asking for the alloy pipe and since i had it sitting there and works perfect i thought why not.

the bottle is very flexable untill you place it inside the hoses then it becomes very firm. never had an issue with it

and when its complete no one would ever know

I will prob' get shot for asking this, but how is that any better than a k&n panel filter if you are still enclosing it in the box?
