i reckon use hydro acid first, let it soak overnight, then rinse well, soak in petrol for an hour or 2 and then rinse extremely well.. then your coolant bottle should be as good as new, also its a good idea to flush your radiator and piping before you clean it, as i didnt and now i got brown stuff in it again!!!!! |

A cooling system flush every year is a good idea, and especially when trying to clean the bottle. I'm going to see if i've got time on sunday to give mine a good clean, i'm tired of it looking so old & crappy. It really lets the engine bay down. Cheers ToranaGuy

I gave mine a clean with some concentrated spary & wipe stuff i bought at bunnings, and got a lot of the crap out of the bottle, but there was some left in it, so i left it soaking the night before the last, and i'll be home tonight to have a look at the results.
