Tools
• 10mm Socket/Spanner
• T25 Torx Bit
• Phillips Screwdriver

Parts
• EF/EL Door Handles
• 150g Paint (Use Paint Code)
• Top Coat Clear
• Plastic Adhesicve Primer
• 400 Wet/Dry Sandpaper
• Bucket
• Washers (Optional)

Note: Those with illuminated key holes will need some washers because the threads aren’t as long on the EF handles. The handles are smaller so any paint blemishes will show around handles. ED’s may have intrusion bars that may get in the way, not sure though. You can get touch up paint in your cars factory colour from most auto stores.

Preparing Handles
Disassemble handles, release spring, remove plastic lugs using flat blade screwdriver or similar, remove rubber grommets and anything else. You should have two parts of the handle. Half fill a bucket and get sanding. You may want to use a a*** sandpaper to get things going a little quicker. Keep sanding until all the paint is removed. Leave the handle to dry and move onto another.

Once dry start with a few coats of the plastic primer, let to dry and follow with a few coats of your paint colour, once dry finish with some top coat clear. Once dry reassemble the handles.

Installing Handles
Front Doors
Remove two screws holding mirror cover, remove lock button. Remove the three plastic screw covers and using the T25 torx bit remove the three screws, remove the handle by pulling it out and turning it 90 degrees. Remove remaining screws from around the door trim, lift the door trim up and off. Peel away the top left/right on the plastic cover to gain access to the two 10mm nuts securing the handle. Release the plastic clip holding the lock rod, if equipped with illuminated lock holes disconnect wiring. Remove the two nuts and carefully remove the handle from the door. Clean the area around the handle and replace handle with the new one. Reinstall lock rod and trim. Etc.

Rear Doors
Remove screws holding around small glass window and remove plastic, remove screws and using the T25 torx bit remove handle. Lift off trim taking note of power windows etc. expose top left/right piece of plastic and tape it out of the way, now depending on how small your hands are you may be able to remove the lock rod from the handle and using a 10 mm ring spanner loosen the nut to remove handle. If not you need to punch out the centres of the rivets hold the locking actuator and drill them out, two per door. Once two nuts are off remove handle and clean off any grime and fit new one. Reinstall trim and any other bits.
