$150? I was hearing prices like $300, and that wasn't long ago!

Hell, if its that cheap, why not i suppose, but that $150 could get me a few tanks of LPG, so i'll stick to tinkering i reckon :)

So happy that this is happening. I'm about to invest in an aftermarket alarm/immobiliser with remote start.. and smartlock needs to go...

could be a stupid question but why would you want to bypass the smartlock?

i cant see a reason why anyone would logically want to.

Because its now outdated and easy to get past in the short term. Aftermarket engine immobilisers etc are much better and offer installation uniqueness. And a lot of people like warm/cold cars in winter/summer before they hop in :)

ef motor into my ea it sounds like our best option is to wire up extra ignition barrel plus bem
unless we can find easier route

You can use a smartlock override module, which connects direct to the ecu providing it with the signals it needs, without all the associated BCM and ign barrel.

I these modules available, pm me for details.

I sent the doc to a mod for approval/checking over - it never got uploaded to the tech section.

I assume some people didn't want the information on bypassing smartlock publicly available, and thats fine. A lot of people still use it as their sole security system and I understand this.

Its for this reason i'm guessing, that it was not uploaded.

If any mod wants to reconsider making it available, (or simply lost the original docco) let me know and I'll send it again for inclusion into the tech section.

Please don't PM me asking to send it to you unless you are a mod - I won't distribute it anymore as this may be against the wishes of some members here.

Smartlock is hardly a security system, if a theif wants one, they would all know that all you have to do is smash the barrel off and switch it on, leave the car for 30 mins come back and drive off...

I dont see that posting how to bypass it is a big issue.
