I hear manuals dont mix with 4.11s well due to 1st gear being to short

Ok i have 3.73 ration in my manual and to be honest i wish i went 3.90 or 4.11 for the drags but 3.73 is totaly streetable not a huge change from 3.45. Also if you don't have a set of 3.73 diff gears you might just get a shock at the price of them, i paid $600 just for the crown and pinion that was brand new. they are hard to find second hand let alone in good condition. Mall Wood recommended i put 3.90 gears in and he was right i should have. definately better than the 3.45 ration though

Oh yeh sorry, it's manual.

What would 3.90 be like for daily driving though...

And more feedback from people with 3.73 would be grouse lol

Thanks

to be honest, theres alot of people running healthy times down the 1/4 mile with manual & 3.45 gears, probably moreso than with 3.7's and shorter.

but it feels nicer to drive with 3.73's

and defintely dont put 3.9's in there as you will probably go slower lol.....

3.73 is about max with a manual, if u went much higher you would be going slower i would think.

No the t5 in the no xr6 models have
1st 3.23
2nd 1.99
3rd 1.29
4th 1.00
5th 0.72 - -
Reverse 3.15
These are the same rations used in the xr8 t5

where xr6 t5 has
1st 2.95
2nd 1.95
3rd 1.34
4th 1.00
5th 0.73
Reverse 2.76

don't really know if this will make a noticable differenc or not.

As for 3.73 They got me .1 of a second off my 60Ft and .2 off my 1/4 mile et. They are good fun on the street when i lined up a car that i used to be dead even with i slowly pulled away from it. From memory the diffence in the RPm was roughly 200 rpm eg 100kph with 3.45 was 2200 rpm with the 3.73 it is 2400rpm. Not a huge change.

one other thing to note is that if you go to 3.90 or 4.11 you can not get a speedo gear, that i am aware of, but you can get one for 3.73. All this means is that if you go with the 3.73 you will save your self the expense of putting in a speedo correction box which usually costs about $200. The speedo gear you want for 3.73 is white in colour.
