not to sure, i bought the diff off a mate, who had it in his car before it rolled, and the diff was in that car when he bought it. The diff is very noisy though!

whine, loud aggressive whine lol

i think the multiple skids may have been a contributing factor to the whine though, my mate used to give the diff a hiding! and also if they are the skyline gear set they are usually a bit noisy anyway in the falcon housings from what im told

Have heard the same thing mrnasty, I was shown both sets of gears side by side, on the skyline gears the teeth were much smaller only 2/3rd's the length of right ones and an older design as well. They fit in and work but dont like it.

i think you can buy new 3.7 and 3.9 gear sets to suit falcon diffs, not 100% though, and not to sure where from. As I said if you are really serious bout it Brett4777 should be able to point you in the right direction, as he is a diff specialist.

After having this diff in my car, my advice is dont buy second hand 3.7 or 3.9 geared diffs unless you know they have been built properly.

My diff is loud, and for the price of rebuilding the diff now (as its loud) i could have kept my money in the first place, saved a little more and had a diff built for me with proper gear sets that wouldnt whine.
