I replaced a set of front rotors and pads on my mates EF this arvo.
We took it for a drive and when braking its fine but when you almost come to a stop, the abs will pulse. It only happens sometimes, but its always under roughly 10km/h.
We cleaned the sensors before we put the new rotors on and after we got back from a drive, and that didn't make a difference.
For now i've just disconnected the ABS Fuse, but what would cause it to do this at low speed and only 70% of the time?

What do you mean pulsing?
Feel the brake pedal pulsing or is the light coming on?

brake pedal pulses exactly like you've locked a wheel up. the abs light dosen't come on when it does this.

So its short sharp pulses different from rotor warp pulsing?

Defiantely used new ABS rotors not non-ABS rotors?

Maybe something was missed, try taking them off and looking for something out of the ordinary.

so it stops after the fuse has been taken out? cause it just sounds like the rotors arn't in properly.

yes it stops once you remove the fuse.
its bloody weird, cause the new rotors have the usual abs rings on them. what could be missed? wheel hub nut/bearings/spacer, rotor with seal, pads, caliper and shims. not much to it, but it didn't do this before.

Good to hear im not the only one with this problem, for me anyway :)

Mines been doing the same thing since ive owned it, about 8 months.

Ive cleaned sensors, taken it too Ford twice and no-one knows what it is. Like you, with fuse disconnected it stops.

Its one of those things thats hard to explain, you have to feel it.

Hope you work it out mate. Make sure you post up the remedy!

well i might go grab 2 sensors next weekend or rob them off mine and swap it and see if it fixes it.
i have eliminated the rotors because it only does it under 10km/h to 0. ABS isn't supposed to work under 3-5km/h anyway. so i'll look into it.
