Ok so as all of you other e series owners know, the brakes on our cars are... average to say the least.
I've read over and over through lots of different threads.
I know about the cebco kits etc etc.
My point it is to expensive for us cheapo e-series owners and it makes a stupid wheel offset.

I've been speaking to my old man who is a mechanical engineer about designing up a floating rotor hub assembly, in which you can just slide the rotor of your choice on to it and then make up brackets for whatever caliper you choose.
Still I understand that's still too much for some who just want good brakes without having to organise their own brackets.

So I was thinking about making a kit with this hub using the ford territory 329mm rotors and caliper. Everything designed and if there is enough interest engineered. A bolt on kit. as cheap as possible.

now the part where i need your help is, the more people involved the cheaper it is to get the hub made, as the setup cost of the machining isn't much different between 1 or 10 hubs, as most of the cost is in setup. My dad has access to a 5 axis CNC machine and laser cutting. Also told me it is easy to design the hub, which would use use standard wheel bearings.

I was planning on using the Pre-au offset.

Discuss below.

thanks
Callum

Do they change the offset in anyway?

i dont know, they do do a upgrade kit in +20 and +35.. i think the slight change in the offset is more to do with the caliper outrigger bracket and also its dependant of the rotor used..

have a look at this thread,

The other interesting thing other than the offset would be if they can take the ABS Ring.

If you're going to do it, go to AU offset.

why? you can just put spacers on the front, and if your worried about power at the rear put an AU diff in so you dont have to use spacers on the rear

Because if you are going to do it, do it proprely. Spacers/Hub adapters are illegal.

I thk what he is saying is to do the kit for E series with AU offset. Thing being that kits are already available in AU Offset.
