Hey this is my first post so go easy on me if its a little jumbled :) I am currently restoring a 64 falcon and i'd like to know a few things if anyone can help me? I would like to replace the asthmatic 170 with a 250 2V however i still want to keep the 3 on the tree and the rest of the running gear, is this possible or will i need to change things to handle the added horsepower?? Also how do i go about changing the stud pattern from the original 4 stud to the more conventional 5 stud?? What are the considerations for the new motor, i.e the brakes and suspension?? obviously the will need to be upgraded to become legal. Any help would be appriciated
Cheers
Ben

changing the motor should be no problem, i can't give you any ideas about the five stud conversion, but i had a 65 xp a long time ago, i ditched the 170 for a 250 and a 4 stud disc brake front end, but that came from a later model xp coupe from memory.

There are conversion kits available to change the stud pattern.
My mate has converted his Mk1 escort to a 5 stud. It now runs AU wheels and AU twinspot calpiers (and a SR20DET).

I am not sure where to get them from
